Dear Friend of SEA,

¡Saludos! This year, Society of the Educational Arts (SEA), the leading bilingual Arts-in-Education organization and the premiere Latino Theatre Company for young audiences in the United States, celebrates its 20th Season of bringing happiness and entertainment to children and young adults.

Through the arts, a child’s imagination is stimulated!
SEA’s programs and performances exemplify wholesome and educational values, strengthen cultural identity and boost self-esteem for all ages and backgrounds. SEA is committed to providing access to and preserving Latin American arts and culture.

Sponsor a child! For twenty years this vision has guided our work. The founding in Puerto Rico, the expansion to New York City in 1993 and the recent opening of our program in Florida, have all been driven by the desire and need for empowerment and educational advancement of Latino children and young adults through the arts. Our arts programs in the schools foster learning and discovery through exploration and creativity. They give students the opportunity to explore traditional as well as culture-specific art forms from our Latino culture.

We take pride in being one of the few organizations in the country that offer such extensive bilingual arts programs in schools and communities, including professional bilingual theatrical performances.

Do you remember your first play? How exciting it was! It is our greatest pleasure to see how children react when they experience our theatre presentations! Through SEA’s exciting programming, thousands of children each year experience the magical world of theatre, and for many it is their first time!

SEA strives to be a self-reliant company, earning 80% of its revenue each year on its own. But public education funds are increasingly stressed, while the need continues to grow. SEA now needs to reach out to patrons like you, who have enjoyed our work for years, in order to continue the pursuit of our mission.

Our Latino community is the fastest growing in the United States, yet the slowest to receive adequate funding for programs and services, especially for arts and cultural programming for children and young adults.

Without the support of Amigos like you, we cannot build on our successes and help even more children.

With your help, we can look back twenty years from now on the growth of SEA with the same excitement and pride that we feel today. But we need your help today to maintain our current programs and establish a firm footing for that future growth. I hope you will accept our invitation to support SEA by making a donation. Please take a moment to consider the difference your donation will make:

  • $50.00 will help bring 5 children to Teatro SEA.
  • $100.00 will buy materials for one Art residency in a school or community center.
  • $250.00 will buy toys for 25 children for SEA’s Three Kings Day Celebration.
  • $500.00 will sponsor 5 children for SEA’s Summer Arts Camp.
  • $1,000.00 will help fund SEA’s bilingual theater productions and ensure that ticket prices remain at a minimum.

Imagine creating an environment where children blossom right in front of your eyes, learning to appreciate tradition and heritage, where art and culture thrive, where wholesome forms of entertainment come to life and where smiles are forever instilled in the hearts of children of all ages. That is SEA!

Help us continue. Your contribution is tax-deductible and will help ensure that SEA continues to thrive.

Gracias for your consideration and support.  We hope to see you at events at Teatro SEA in the coming year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Manuel A. Morán
CEO & Artistic Director
